Metroid Dread Gets a Bombastic New Trailer and Gameplay Report

by Ali Haider

Metroid Dread is a brand new entry in the series that is one of the most anticipated games of the year. It is due out in October and has received a new update.

Dread appears to be the theme for the game itself, as shown in the latest trailer. In this video, we see Samus Aran travel through space while we are given an overview of the new threats that she has to face in the game.

Nintendo has also shared a development report on the game that comes with a whole bunch of new screenshots as well. This report goes through Samus Aran’s history and talks about her abilities and weapons. Fans of the series will be familiar with most of them including the morph ball, melee counter, and missiles.

Since the developers behind Metroid Dread are the same as the remake of Metroid 2, Metroid: Samus Returns, some of the abilities and gameplay design has been carried over to Metroid Dread. Melee counter is one of the abilities while the developers also mention that any of the actions can be performed from any position. The flow from one gameplay style to another will be seamless in the game.

Metroid Dread is set to launch on October 8, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.
