Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase Announced For September 17
Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase that will share announcements for current and upcoming Nintendo Switch games.
This upcoming partner showcase will feature “information on upcoming Nintendo Switch titles exclusively from our publishing partners.” It is scheduled for September 17 at 7 AM PT.
Nintendo hasn’t shared any details on what kind of announcements are expected from this Direct but there have been quite a few rumors. As Nintendo announced and released a Paper Mario game early this year, it was first leaked with a 2D Metroid announcement. This didn’t turn out to be the case and while we still have some time left, it is possible that this game could be from a third-party and will be announced tomorrow.
Some of the other games that are announced but haven’t been seen for quite a while are Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4. It is possible that fans might finally see Bayonetta 3 which hasn’t been shown since the original reveal back in 2017. It will be developed by Platinum Games so this counts as a third-party partner.
Another rumor that made the rounds recently was a Ninja Gaiden Sigma Trilogy for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. It can be possibly announced at this upcoming Nintendo Direct.
Lastly, there is a rumor of a Monster Hunter game that is planned for the Nintendo Switch. This game could be announced tomorrow since Capcom has already confirmed a new Monster Hunter that will target high-school kids. An announcement for this game could be a part of this partner showcase.
Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, companies are struggling to release games on schedule and this has also impacted announcements because games could be potentially delayed.
