The release of the latest entry Sega and Atlus’ Persona series, Persona 6, is rumored to happen late in 2024, with a timed PS5 only launch.
According to YouTuber Nate the Hate, who is known for his sources in the games industry, Persona 6 will release sometime late in the year 2024, with a timed PS5 only launch. He also stated that the game will be a current-gen only release, and that no PS4 version is planned. If true, this would be a rather daring decision from Sega and Atlus, given the larger user base for Sony’s previous-gen console in the Japanese market.
Nevertheless, considering that the game’s projected release is in 2024, it appears that SEGA and Atlus can afford to forego the inclusion of the PS4 platform, as is also the case with Namco and Tekken 8’s current-gen only release.
Although Nate’s sources have told him that Persona 6 will most likely be exclusive to the PS5, he does not completely dismiss the possibility of the game eventually arriving on Xbox consoles.
Additionally, with regards to the Persona 3 Remake, Nate stated that it will be a multiplatform release. He also corroborated earlier reports that suggested the game would be unveiled at the upcoming Xbox Showcase on June 11, 2023. According to Reset Era member Im A Hero Too, who has shared details regarding the development of both the rumored Persona 3 remake and Persona 6 in the past, the aforementioned remake will be making its very first appearance at the Xbox showcase on June 11, 2023.
Nate also vaguely mentioned a new Persona 5 spin-off that will arrive sometime in the year 2024. While he didn’t go into further detail, it’s likely to be a direct sequel to Persona 5 Strikers.
Previously, a mysterious domain for the web address “p3re.jp” was registered on March 15, 2023, suggesting that the rumored Persona 3 remake may be close to receiving an official announcement from Sega and Atlus.
