PS Plus Premium Banner Suggests Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 May Soon Be Added To The Subscription Service

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games’ web-swinging adventure, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, appears to be headed to  PS Plus Premium sometime soon.

The official Belgian and Dutch PlayStation websites have been updated with a new PS Plus Premium banner that prominently features Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, suggesting that the game may be headed to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s subscription service sometime soon.

Spider-man 2 ps plus

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released about a year ago on October 20, 2023, so it entirely makes sense for the web-swinging adventure to hit PS Plus. The interesting thing to note here, however, is that the game only appears to be headed to the most expensive tier of the subscription service i.e. PS Plus Premium. The banner suggests that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will not arrive on the PS Plus Extra catalog, at least not for a while. This may just be marketing, however, and the game may well be available for both PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscribers. Only time will tell whether that’s the case, however.

Previously, leaked concept art fromMarvel’s Spider-Man 2 had potentially revealed the villain featured in future DLC. It presumably came from the infamous Insomniac Games data theft incident. While the developer has yet to official announce any story DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we have a pretty good hint regarding the identity of its featured villain. The leaked concept art revealed that the antagonist featured in the game’s possible story DLC is none other than The Beetle. Earlier, game files allegedly found as part of the Insomniac Games data theft incident also included mention of a Beetle DLC. The files contained references to Janice and a list of missions alongside XP Rewards for their completion. In the Spider-Man universe, Janice Lincoln, identified as Tombstone’s daughter, transforms into the supervillain Beetle. Through admiring her father’s criminal pursuits, she was prohibited from involvement.
