Grand Theft Auto VI has received a 21+ age rating from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Media Regulation, confirming that Rockstar Games’ upcoming open-world title will be officially distributed in the country. The listing also states that the game will launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The classification was shared by Gmedia Games, which reported that Grand Theft Auto VI is rated 21 and above by Saudi Arabia’s official video game classification authority.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Media Regulation, also known as Gmedia, is the government agency responsible for classifying video games in the country. Its age classification system includes ratings for different levels of mature content, with 21+ representing the highest category.
The 21+ classification places GTA 6 above the 18+ category in Saudi Arabia. The rating is particularly notable for Rockstar’s latest game given the franchise’s established focus on mature themes, violence, crime, and other adult content. The game has also recently been rated by ESRB and PEGI.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set in Leonida and returns players to Vice City. The story follows Lucia and Jason, a criminal duo whose activities become connected to a wider conspiracy across the fictional state.
