Sony has bought Insomniac Games and announced their plans to continue working on successors for Ratchet and Clank and Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation consoles.
Insomniac Games is the developer behind many popular PlayStation exclusive franchises. They have worked on Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, and Marve’s Spider-Man. All of these franchise is owned by Sony and the games were published for PlayStation consoles yet Insomniac Games remaining a 2nd party studio for Sony.

This has changed now as Sony has officially acquired Insomniac Games. The press release cites the success of both Ratchet and Clank and Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4. It confirms that Marvel’s Spider-Man has sold through 13.2 million copies, which is a new record for Sony in term of games sales within a year of launch.

Rumors about a sequel to Ratchet and Clank made their rounds recently. The huge success of Marvel’s Spider-Man also makes it sure that the game will get a sequel and the ending itself was a cliffhanger that hinted at where the franchise might head in case there is a new game.
