Resident Evil 4 The Mercenaries: How To Unlock Every Stage and Character
Resident Evil 4 The Mercenaries update is out today and it adds a simple but highly replayable mode to the game. Here’s how to unlock everything in it.
Once you have downloaded the new update and installed The Mercenaries free DLC from the PlayStation Store, you should be able to play this mode from the beginning. It doesn’t require you to beat the story to unlock it, and it also helps you to grab one of the most powerful weapons in the game easily, the Handcannon.
How To Unlock All Characters In Resident Evil 4 Remake The Mercenaries
There are a total of four playable characters in Resident Evil 4 Remake. They are Leon, Luis, Krauser, and Hunk. Leon is unlocked from the beginning while the other characters have to be unlocked.
To unlock characters like Luis, Krauser, and Hunk, you will need to achieve a minimum of A rank with each of the characters. The stages don’t matter here so you can play any stage, like the Village, and achieve an A rank. This is quite simple to do and won’t require a lot of effort.
First up is Leon. You can play the Village stage with Leon and get an A rank in it to unlock Luis. You can then proceed to play the Village stage with Luis and get an A rank with him to unlock Krauser. Follow it up with playing as Krauser in the Village stage and get A rank to unlock Hunt.
Requirements For A, S, S+, and S++ Rank In The Mercenaries
- A Rank = 100,000 points
- S Rank = 200,000 Points
- S+ Rank = 500,000 Points
- S++ Rank = 1,000,000 Points
How To Unlock All Stages In The Mercenaries
There are three stages available in The Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake. They are Village, Castle, and Island.
You begin with Village as the default unlocked stage. To unlock the other stages, simply beat Village with any of the characters and you will unlock the Castle stage. Do the same for Castle, and beat it with any of the characters to unlock the Island stage. As for the ranking, you need to achieve at least a B rank but it might be possible to unlock the stages at an even lower rank too.

Can You Unlock Ada In The Mercenaries
While Ada is not playable right now, she might be a part of a future DLC as her story expansion is reportedly coming post-launch. There might be more stages added later down the line as well but these are rumors for now.
