A new round of speculation suggests that Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake could be announced at Summer Game Fest 2026, according to comments from known leaker Dusk Golem.
Responding to a question on Twitter about the possibility of a reveal, Dusk Golem stated, “I think it’s incredibly likely, but I don’t know Capcom’s marketing plans, so we’ll see.” The leaker later expanded on this, emphasizing that the prediction is based on personal expectation rather than confirmed information, noting that it is “pure speculation from me.”
In a series of follow-up posts, Dusk Golem outlined a possible timeline for Capcom’s upcoming announcements. According to their speculation, a Resident Evil 9 mini-game update is expected to release this month, followed by a Code Veronica Remake reveal at Summer Game Fest. They also suggested that story DLC for Resident Evil 9 could be announced later in the year. The leaker explained their reasoning by pointing to how announcements might be spaced out to maintain interest across multiple projects, though they reiterated uncertainty about Capcom’s actual plans.
The same thread also touched on the broader release strategy, with Dusk Golem suggesting that marketing for Code Veronica Remake could begin after the current focus on Resident Evil 9 content. They indicated that staggering announcements could allow both projects to maintain visibility over time.
Previous reports have also linked Dusk Golem to details about the rumored remake, including claims that it may be directed by Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Anpo, who previously worked on Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Capcom has not officially announced RE Code Veronica Remake. Any potential reveal at Summer Game Fest remains speculative at this stage.
