CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past will be featured during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25.
Announcing the appearance on social media, the studio said, “Our Path to #gamescom 2026 starts with #OpeningNightLive. On August 25, catch a glimpse of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past during the show!”
The showcase will air on August 25 at 11am PT, 2pm ET and 8pm CEST.
In addition to the Opening Night Live reveal, players and members of the press attending Gamescom will be able to see more of the expansion at the CD Projekt Red booth, where the studio will host guided presentations.
Songs of the Past was announced as a surprise third major expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Co-developed by CD Projekt Red and Fool’s Theory, the expansion brings players back to Geralt of Rivia for a new adventure set before the next mainline entry in the series.
The expansion is currently scheduled for release in 2027 and is intended to deliver a narrative experience comparable in scope to Blood and Wine.
