Ubisoft has added Steam achievements to several of its titles, including games in the Ghost Recon and Assassin’s Creed series.
The events section of the respective Steam store page for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breaking Point, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, and Assassin’s Creed Unity were updated with the announcement that Steam achievements are now available for these titles. It was further revealed that achievements will be retroactively earned for the accomplishments already completed by a user in the aforementioned games.
In order to unlock achievements retroactively, players will be required to sync up their existing in-game accomplishments by launching the game once. Doing so will allow their previously unlocked Steam Connect achievements to be automatically unlocked on Steam.
Speaking of the Assassin’s Creed series, the upcoming installment, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, will not be available on Steam at launch. The game is set for release on February 14, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and the Ubisoft store on PC.
A dataminer had recently shared alleged details regarding the Season 1 Battle Pass for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Discord. In addition, they had provided a first look inside the Loading Room of the Animus Hub, where the player controls the “avatar” of Yasuke. Season 1 of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is allegedly called “Eye in the Dark”. It is said to feature 20 levels (tiers), and all rewards are set to be available for free. Completing the Battle Pass earns players 9,050 Isu Coins, which coins can be used in exchange for new content.
Ubisoft denied the validity of the dataminer’s information in its message to the community. The publisher clarified that all rewards available in the Animus Hub will be entirely free, and that there is no paid subscriptions or battle pass featured there. Furthermore, players will have access to regular content and missions at no extra cost.
