Microsoft has confirmed the next batch of titles leaving Xbox Game Pass later this month, with five games scheduled to exit the subscription library on May 31, 2026.

The departing lineup includes several major RPGs and indie releases, headlined by Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 4 Golden.

The full list of games leaving Xbox Game Pass on May 31 includes:

  • Metaphor: ReFantazio
  • Spray Paint Simulator
  • Against the Storm
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • Crypt Custodian

Metaphor: ReFantazio joined Xbox Game Pass on May 29, 2025, and quickly became one of the service’s highest-profile RPG additions. Developed by Studio Zero and led by several creators behind the modern Persona series, the fantasy RPG received widespread critical acclaim for its turn-based combat and world design.

Persona 4 Golden also leaves the service after returning to Game Pass in August 2025 following an earlier departure in 2024. The beloved Atlus RPG remains one of the company’s most recognized modern JRPG releases.

Elsewhere, Against the Storm exits after spending nearly two years on PC Game Pass and roughly one year on Xbox consoles. The roguelite city-builder earned praise for combining survival mechanics with dark fantasy strategy gameplay.

Spray Paint Simulator and Crypt Custodian will also leave the service after launching as newer additions throughout 2025.

As is standard with Game Pass removals, subscribers can typically purchase departing games at a discount before they leave the library permanently.
