DOOM Eternal Day One Update File Size Revealed, Runs At 60 FPS Even On Xbox One

DOOM Eternal has a substantial day one update that will be a part of the pre-load on PS4 and Xbox One. It also runs at 60 FPS on base PS4 and Xbox One S.

DOOM Eternal is out on March 20 and will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is also coming to the Nintendo Switch although its release date has been delayed and it will launch after the other platforms.

DOOM Eternal has a day one update that is available to download now. The file size of DOOM Eternal update 1.01 is roughly 5.1 GB which is separate from the full game size. According to the listing on the Microsoft Store, DOOM Eternal has a file size of 37 GB. This applies to the Xbox One version and it is possible that the file size is different for the PC and PS4 version.

Bethesda Softworks had posted the official DOOM Eternal PC system requirements on Steam but they later removed it. These system requirements also demanded a hard disk space of 50 GB for the game.

Billy Khan, who is the Lead Engine Programmer at id Software has confirmed that the game will run at 60 FPS on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, Xbox One, and Xbox One S. This is not a big surprise since it was already the case for the first DOOM game that launched back in 2016.

The game will also offer a field-of-view (FOV) slider on consoles. It goes even higher on PC, as revealed by the Lead Engine Programmer, Billy Khan. The game is out on March 20, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will launch at a later date for the Nintendo Switch.
