Watts is one form of premium currency in Pokémon Sword and Shield which can be useful for many things. Here’s how you can get them and what to do with them.
Watts was introduced for the first time in Pokemon Sword and Shield. You can use this currency to purchase useful things that can help you along your quest. Since a lot of bonuses can be obtained by Watts, you will have to keep your eye open for them and spend any of the earned Watts wisely.
How To Get Watts In Pokémon Sword and Shield
In this guide, we will tell you the different ways to earn Watts and will tell you how to spend them wisely in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
The fastest way is no doubt through the Max Raid Battles. If you find an empty den, you can get 50 Watts simply by visiting there. If you are lucky enough to find a Dynamax Pokémon inside, you can get 300 Watts. There is no need to start a battle in this case and you can simply get the Watts without initiating a battle with the Dynamax Pokemon. As you explore the Wild Area, just keep on the lookout for lights that can be the location of a Dynamax Pokemon den.
If you don’t have the luck to find enough Dynamax Pokemon, you can try your hand at fighting Shiny Pokemon. These types of Pokemon are also rare to find in the Wild Area but you can get a lot of Watts by beating them. If you prefer to capture them, you will still get Watts as a reward. This is basically your choice and how you approach them
Once you find enough Watts to use in the game, it is time to find a way to sell them. Watt traders are easily found roaming around in the Wild Area. These are NPCs that can give you rare items if you exchange your Watts with them. Some of these range from Pokeballs to TRs which are used to team Pokemon new moves.
To go on a quest for hunting and capturing Shiny Pokemon, you should try having a huge range of Pokeballs as they will be very useful for you to catch Pokemon while wandering around in the Wild Area. If you trade 3000 Watts, you can find wishing pieces that will be used to summon a Dynamax Pokemon to use in a Max Raid Battle. Here are some of the locations where a Watt trader can be found.
- Meetup Spot
- East Lake Axewell
- Dappled Grove
- Hammerlocke Hills
- Giant’s Seat
- Giant’s Cap
Some of the Watt traders will also offer you valuable items like pearls to exchange for Watts. This method can be used to farm money by selling these items at the Poke Marts. If you visit the Digging Duo, you can get a lot more rare items by hiring them for 500 Watts. They will dig rare items like evolution stones, fossils, wishing stones, and many other things. Your bike can be upgraded with 500 Watts to help you in exploring the Wild Area.
