This new rumor has more information on the release of the game. ResetERA Admin and Niko Partner analyst, Daniel Ahmed shared this rumor about The Last of Us Part 2 release date and the game launching with four different editions. When questioned about the source, he revealed that the same source had shared the November release date for Death Stranding before it was officially announced.
If we go by this rumor, The Last of Us Part 2 will launch in February 2020, lining up with the earlier reports, and offer four different editions: Standard Edition, Special Edition, Collector’s Edition, Ellie Edition. No further details were shared on when the release date will be announced but there were rumors before E3 that Sony will hold a State of Play to announce the release date for The Last of Us Part 2.
