Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware’s mecha-based vehicular combat game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, has surpassed sales of 3 million copies.
The official Twitter/X account for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has revealed that the game’s sales have surpassed 3 million copies worldwide. Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer FromSoftware thanked all players, both new and old, who have braved the fires and flown on borrowed wings, for this accomplishment.
Given the relative niche status of the Armored Core franchise, sales of over 3 million units is relatively impressive. The game found a dedicated audience of both Soulsborne and Armored Core fanatics. They sales figures will likely ensure that the series won’t be going on another lengthy hiatus, and that a potential Armored Core VII would happen at some point in the future. Perhaps this success will also lead to the release of paid DLC content for the game, much like how the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was recently released for the hugely successful Elden Ring.
Back in October, 2023, Ryo Shimokawa and Yasuyuki Kase, the Japanese voice actors behind Armored Core VI characters Pater and Rusty, respectively, had shared that the game’s sales had exceeded 2.8 million copies. The two made this revelation during a YouTube stream in which they were invited as guests. As such, the game has sold over 200,000 copies worldwide between October, 2023, and July, 2024, suggesting that sales have slowed down considerably.
