Rockstar appears to have updated the PC version of Bully: Scholarship Edition, but it wasn’t the major improvement many speculated.
As spotted on SteamDB, Bully: Scholarship Edition received a small patch today. The only listed change was the removal of a “testapp.exe” file from the game.
According to a Rockstar insider, this is an old build of the game that no longer needed to be available, so Rockstar likely just made this minor change without adding any further improvements.
If there were significant changes to the PC version, they would be reflected in the files updated on SteamDB, but this isn’t the case.
Rockstar recently released Red Dead Redemption for PC, and there were reports they might be working on an improved version of Bully: Scholarship Edition after releasing a patch for GTA The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition on PC and consoles. Fans had been tracking changes on SteamDB, but these were mostly backend updates for regular QA and keeping the game updated with their Rockstar Launcher.
The new patch for Bully: Scholarship Edition has a documented list of changes, but no patch notes are visible on SteamDB.
Bully: Scholarship Edition was first released for Xbox and PS2, followed by a PC release. It remains a controversial project by Rockstar due to its sensitive subject matter. Rockstar reportedly planned a sequel but scrapped it mid-development. They haven’t officially announced any plans for a sequel, but scrapped content for the sequel has surfaced online.
