Control Resonant PS5 Performance And Quality Mode Detailed

by Greg Martin

Control Resonant PS5 features have been detailed by Remedy Entertainment ahead of the game’s September 24 release, including its performance and quality modes, as well as DualSense support.

On PlayStation 5, Performance mode targets 60fps at 1440p, while Quality mode targets 30fps at 2160p. Remedy said the game was designed around 60fps from the outset, with responsiveness playing an important role in its combat-focused gameplay.

The DualSense adaptive triggers are also used to provide different levels of resistance depending on Dylan’s abilities. For example, abilities such as Barrage and Volatile Anomaly have their own trigger feedback when activated, giving combat actions a different tactile response.

Control Resonant will also support 3D Audio when played with a compatible headset. On PS5, players can track their main story quest progress through Activities, while Game Help support is planned for after launch.

PS5 Pro users will have three graphics modes available, with the console’s PSSR technology also supported. Performance mode targets 60fps at 2160p, while Quality mode targets 30fps at 2160p with ray tracing enabled.

Balanced mode is designed for players with a 120Hz-compatible display. It targets 40fps at 2160p and includes ray tracing, offering an option between the performance and quality settings.

The game is set in Remedy’s version of Manhattan, which is divided into distinct Zones with different visual identities. Fast travel between these areas is described as near-instantaneous, while players can also move between Manhattan and the Gap, a space within Dylan’s mind where they can unlock upgrades, test builds and craft Artifacts.

The main story is expected to take between 25 and 35 hours to complete, with additional content available for players pursuing full completion.
