Crazy Taxi: World Tour has received a new trailer showcasing its multiplayer modes for the first time. Revealed during gamescom Opening Night Live, the footage shows players competing across the city for passengers while racing through streets, finding shortcuts and battling rival drivers.
The trailer also confirms the return of several familiar characters from the series. Gena, B.D. Joe and Gus will join Axel when Crazy Taxi: World Tour launches in 2027, giving players multiple drivers to choose from as they compete for fares.
The multiplayer modes turn the game’s city into a shared environment where players can compete directly against one another. SEGA has not yet provided a full breakdown of the multiplayer modes, but the trailer highlights races for passengers, competition for control of the streets and opportunities to discover shortcuts.
The new trailer is accompanied by Bad Religion’s Ten in 2010. SEGA has also confirmed that several other songs from the original Crazy Taxi soundtrack will return, including The Offspring’s All I Want and Change the World, along with Bad Religion’s Them and Us and Inner Logic.
More details about the soundtrack, including additional new artists, will be announced at a later date.
SEGA is also preparing a Multiplayer Closed Network Test for Crazy Taxi: World Tour. The test will run from September 11 to September 13 in selected regions, giving chosen participants an early opportunity to try the game’s new online multiplayer features.
Applications for the test are open until August 31. Players must meet the participation requirements and be located in one of the eligible regions to apply.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is scheduled to launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The game will also support Xbox Play Anywhere and is currently available to wishlist on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and PlayStation 5.
