First Live-Action Disney’s Aladdin Trailer Is Here and It Looks Majestic

Disney has released the first proper trailer for the upcoming live-action Aladdin remake starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, and Naomi Scott. They had a short teaser and multiple stills from the movie released earlier, but this is the first time a proper trailer has been released by them.

Disney’s Aladdin is a remake of the animated original from Walt Disney Studio. It is based on the Arabian folktale of one thousand and one nights. This remake will be directed by Guy Ritchie.

The movie faced some controversy recently after Will Smith was revealed to be the genie. First still from the movie showed him in his human form while the most recent teaser had bad CGI and made him look terrible. This new full trailer is much better and shows that Disney hasn’t forgotten what made the original animated movie so great.

The official story description was also shared along with this first trailer for the movie. Have a look at the story synopsis.

A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.” The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia; Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim.

Disney’s Aladdin will hit theatres on May 24, 2019. It is one of the three live-action Disney remakes scheduled for this year along with Dumbo and The Lion King.
