Disney may be working on games based on the Alien, Predator, and The Simpsons IPs, based on a new job listing.
According to the job listing (via the ResetEra forums), the company is hiring a senior UX/UI game designer to work with external studios on projects using its own licensed IPs. Alien, Predator, and The Simpsons are specifically mentioned as examples of preferred properties, indicating that Disney may be working on a new Alien vs Predator and the previously rumored The Simpsons Hit & Run remaster/remake.
The fresh candidate is expected to partner closely with the Creative Lead to provide project feedback and help Disney’s external studios succeed with milestones, gates, and deadline. They will review gameplay mechanics, systems, assets, milestone builds, and documentation to ensure brand alignment and quality approval. The new recruit is also expected to deliver ongoing feedback in different formats throughout the development cycle based on each project’s need. They will help studios uphold project pillars, identity, and conventions so the games feel on brand and strengthen the company’s portfolio. Furthermore, they will serve as a dependable source of brand and gameplay guidance for the studios Disney works with.
One of Disney’s external partners may be New Radical Games (formerly Radical Entertainment). In February, The Simpsons: Hit & Run developer received its new name alongside a new website that hinted at the possibility of a remaster. Among its services, the studio mentions porting and remastering games by enhancing visuals audio, and gameplay to revive titles for modern hardware and appeal to both new and longtime players.
Later in March, during an interview, The Simpsons executive producer and showrunner Matt Selman hinted at the possibility of a revival of Hit & Run. “Nothing is set in stone. But my quote about Hit & Run would be, ‘Never say never,’” he said. “Because we know people love it. We know they want it, so that’s good. If we know people want it, never say never.”
