Generally known for its critical stance on games and its wider use of the 10-point scoring scale, Edge Magazine has developed a reputation for being a harsh critic over the years. In related news, it was recently reported that the launch concurrent player count stats for MachineGames’ latest title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, were below its previous games. According to Steam charts, the action-adventure game reached an all-time concurrent player count of 8,148 players on the platform. It’s worth noting that the game has been available day one on Game Pass and has relatively high minimum system requirements due to its mandatory use of ray tracing. It also went through an Early Access period, which can notably affect the concurrent player count for a single-player title.
Furthermore, the peak concurrent player count for Indiana Jones and the Great Cicle is lower than that of MachineGames’ previous releases, including Wolfenstein: The New Order at 11,986, and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus at 16,141. Meanwhile, despite being a single-player title that was available day one on Game Pass, GSC Game World’s recently released S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl reached an all-time concurrent player peak of 121,335 players.
