The Epic Games Store will end its holiday sales giveaway on January 2 with the final Mystery game, rumored to be Hell Let Loose.
Renowned insider Billbil-Kun has shared details about the latest Mystery game, suggesting it will be Hell Let Loose based on hints from a previous leaker. It’s interesting to note that Hell Let Loose doesn’t currently appear on the Epic Games Store, though it has been available on Steam for some time. In the past, such debuts on the Epic Games Store have often been marked by the game being given for free.
Hell Let Loose immerses players in the chaos of war, featuring iconic battles of the Eastern and Western Fronts such as Carentan, Omaha Beach, Stalingrad, and Kursk. This squad-based, 50v50 multiplayer game allows players to choose from 14 roles within Command, Infantry, Recon, and Armour units, including Officer, Spotter, Medic, and Tank Commander. With realistic battlefields recreated using aerial and satellite imagery and divided into large capture sectors, teamwork and communication are essential. Players must manage resources, call in support, and make strategic decisions to dominate the battlefield. The game emphasizes unit-focused gameplay, realistic ballistics, and offers a unique meta-game with persistent player progression, multiple roles, and constant updates.
Hell Let Loose will follow up on Sifu and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, both of which were single-player games. It appears to break the trend of Epic Games Store offering single-player games, but at least it can be played over a longer period if you enjoy multiplayer online games.
Hell Let Loose was also offered for free on PlayStation Plus. It is published by Team17, who have previously offered their games on subscription services, so it being part of the Epic Games Store giveaway is not surprising.
