Final Fantasy 1-3 pixel remaster is out now on PC but they still offer a horrible font choice. This can be fixed with this new retro mod.
By default, the game comes with a font that just looks horrible. It doesn’t appear to mesh well with the retro aesthetics of the game. The remaster itself doesn’t appear to be that bad and actually looks decent with the newly added retro sprites, but the font can be an eyesore.
If you are one of the folks who have purchased the game, there is, fortunately, a mod out there that can solve this issue.
How To Fix Final Fantasy 1-3 Pixel Remaster Font
The fix is simple. You just need to download this Mystic Quest mod that simply swaps the default font with a retro font that looks a lot better. See the results in the screenshots below (via).
If you download the above zip file, you will get two fonts files. One is for the Japanese language while the other is for English. Simply go into the main directory of the game and search for the font file there. You can make a backup of the font file just in case, and overwrite it with the one provided in the zip file.
Final Fantasy 1-3 Pixel Remaster is currently only available on Steam and will be released on Smartphones as well. Aside from that, Square Enix hasn’t shared any plans on bringing them to consoles, but that should change after fan demand.
