Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will end service on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT. The publisher confirmed the decision in a message from the game’s management team, apologising to players for what it described as the abrupt announcement.
According to the notice, the App Store and Google Play versions launched on September 7, 2023, followed by the Steam release on December 6, 2023. The management team said, “Since the launch of the App Store and Google Play versions on Sep. 7, 2023, and the Steam version on Dec. 6, 2023, we have worked to provide the best possible experience for our players. After careful consideration, however, we have determined that it will be difficult to continue doing so and have made the decision to end service.”
Sales of Red Crystals ended immediately following the announcement on July 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM PDT. Players who already own Red Crystals will still be able to use them until the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis end of service date. Square Enix also confirmed that in-game events will continue to be released and updated until service concludes.
After the shutdown, the company said account information will be deleted once all procedures related to the end of service have been completed in order to protect users’ personal information.
Square Enix also confirmed that refunds for unused paid Red Crystals will only be available to players residing in Taiwan. Further details will be shared through the game and the official website at a later date. Players eligible for refunds have been advised not to delete the app or reinstall it on another device until the refund process has been completed.
The announcement concludes with a message to players: “We hope you continue to enjoy FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS during the limited time remaining until the end of service on Oct. 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT. Thank you, as always, for your support.”
