Mike Shapiro, the actor behind the character of G-Man from the Half-Life series, has teased fans with cryptic 2025 greetings.
G-Man voice actor Mike Shapiro took to Twitter/X to share a cryptic greetings message to his followers for the year 2025. In his message, he expressed that he was glad to see and hear from many of his followers. He hoped that the next quarter century may deliver as many unexpected surprises as did the millennium’s first.
Further in his cryptic note, the G-Man voice actor said that time is fluid like music. He ended the message by telling his fans that he looks forward to seeing them in the new year.
It’s tough to make sense of most of what Shapiro said, but it undoubtedly has something to do with Half-Life. It’s highly likely that Valve Corporation had him drop this message in order to tease a future announcement that may or may not have something to do with a certain third entry in the Half-Life series.
In related news, content creator Gabe Follower had previously posted a video in which he went into detail about the development challenges and future direction of the Half-Life franchise, particularly focusing on the elusive Half-Life 3 and other related projects at Valve. According to him, during a closed video conference in October 2020, Gabe Newell discussed the difficulties Valve faced while attempting to develop a full-fledged entry in the Half-Life series. The content creator mentioned that the developers encountered significant issues with the Source 2 engine, which was not sufficiently developed for a project as large as Half-Life 3. As a result, every time the team hit a dead end, it led to frustration, and eventually the team members would part ways. Some developers wanted to switch to other game engines like Unreal or Unity, while others insisted on refining Source 2 before revisiting their original work.
