Helldivers 2 update 7.0.0, titled Devoid of Liberty, introduces a new frontier with new Illuminate enemies, SEAF support, 15 additional ranks, expanded emote slots, and the Castellan’s Creed Warbond. The update also brings several community-requested changes, including a reworked assisted reload system and improvements to the GATER.
The patch also includes weapon and Stratagem balance changes, enemy adjustments, crash fixes, gameplay improvements, and visual updates. Several quality-of-life changes should make loadout management, stim usage, heavy landings, and battlefield encounters smoother.

New Features
- New Illuminate enemies have been added:
- The Crusher can regenerate while taking heavy damage and must be worn down consistently.
- The Wretch can dodge and leap while advancing towards players.
- SEAF support has been added as a planet modifier.
- Friendly SEAF NPC troops can now support Helldivers during missions.
- SEAF troops feature new behaviour, weaponry, and updated visuals.
- SEAF support includes tools such as Stim pistols and Heavy Machine Guns.
- The Helldiver level cap has increased from 150 to 300.
- 15 new ranks and titles have been added.
- Each new rank includes a unique title and icon.
- The emote wheel capacity has increased from 4 to 8 emotes.
- The Castellan’s Creed Warbond has been added.
- The Warbond is part of the Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Castellan’s Creed collaboration.
Community Feedback Changes
- The GATER has received engine and transmission upgrades.
- The vehicle now uses a Super V48 Interceptor engine.
- Speed and handling have been improved.
- The R-2124 Constitution now features a full stripper clip reload when reloading from an empty magazine.
- Assisted reloads have been reworked.
- Either the weapon wielder or the reloader can now have the required backpack.
- Players can keep their backpack while reloading.
- Teammates can more easily assist with reloads when the opportunity arises.
Quality of Life Updates
- Stratagem weapon loadout icons have been updated.
- Weapons requiring a backpack now display a backpack icon.
- Weapons that cannot be reloaded now display a drop weapon icon.
- Heavy landing animation duration has been reduced by around 40 percent.
- The animation has been reduced from 1.32 seconds to 0.8 seconds.
- Stim inputs are now remembered for a short period when the action is temporarily unavailable.
- A queued stim can activate when the action becomes available within the allowed duration.
- The input can be remembered for up to 2 seconds.

- Short magazines for the AR-23 Liberator, AR-23P Liberator Penetrator, AR-23C Liberator Concussive, AR-23A Liberator Carbine, and AR-59 Suppressor have received more ammunition.
- Spare magazines increased from 12 to 16.
- Starting magazines increased from 7 to 9.
- Short magazines for the SMG-37 Defender and SMG-72 Pummeler have received more ammunition.
- Spare magazines increased from 9 to 12.
- Starting magazines increased from 6 to 8.
- Short magazines for the SMG/FLAM-34 Stoker have received more ammunition.
- Spare magazines increased from 10 to 13.
- Starting magazines increased from 6 to 7.
- Reload duration decreased from 2.8 seconds to 2.3 seconds.
- Short magazines for the SG-225 Breaker and SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary have received more ammunition.

- Eagle Napalm Airstrike has received an area-of-effect increase.
- Explosion radius increased from 8 metres to 10 metres.
- Bomb patterns have been spread out to cover a larger area.
- MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines have received increased demolition strength.
- Demolition strength increased from 30 to 40.
Enemy Changes
Terminids
- Hunters can now consistently attack FRVs.
- Hunters can correctly trigger a melee attack against FRVs.
Illuminate
- Veracitor melee attacks have been adjusted when Helldivers use the SH-20 Ballistic Shield Backpack.
- Exomech melee force strength increased from 25 to 40.
- Exomech melee attack armour penetration has been standardised to Anti-Tank.
- Helldivers will ragdoll when blocking an attack rather than being sent into the air.
- The Ballistic Shield breaks after around 15 direct hits.
Crash Fixes
- Fixed a rare crash when dropping down the core drill.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when spreading fire.
- Fixed a very rare crash when Mortar Sentries update their targeting aim.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when dropping into CR7+ missions on Cyberstan.
- Fixed a PS5 and Xbox crash on boot after entering the settings menu with no prior saves, restoring settings to default, and restarting.
- Fixed a rare UI crash during shutdown.
- Fixed a crash when using multiple monitors with different DPI scales on Windows.
Weapon and Stratagem Fixes
- Weapon sway and reload statistics now display decimals for greater accuracy.
- Backpack-requiring Stratagem Weapons now display backpack icons.
- Stratagem Weapons that cannot be reloaded now display drop weapon icons.
- Players can now assist reload a Helldiver using ammunition from their backpack.
- Fixed an issue where the Veto pistol received an extra round from the Siege-Ready armour passive.
- Fixed additional weapons that incorrectly received an extra round, magazine, or heat-coil.
- Fixed a camera clipping issue involving the R-36 Eruptor with the 2x Tube Red Dot at maximum field of view.
- Enemies no longer spontaneously attack the GATER unless a Helldiver is inside it or it is drilling.
- Weapons no longer lock onto the GATER tank.
- GATER ammunition capacity, health, knockback, and impact damage have been increased.
- GATER speed and responsiveness have been increased.
- Fixed an issue with the LAS-58 Talon overloading animation and SH-20 Ballistic Shield Backpack clipping.

- Improved the TD-220 Bastion Mk.XVI munitions system HUD to make manual main cannon reloading clearer.
- Orbital Laser no longer occasionally gets stuck after targeting a flying enemy.

- Fixed Gatekeeper weapons clipping into each other when targets were too close.
- Fixed visual and gameplay inconsistencies involving Impaler armour.
- Impaler close-range melee attacks now have a damage shockwave.
- Hunters can now attack FRVs more consistently.
- Enemies no longer disappear when a Helldiver dies.
- Fixed enemy navigation issues in a Take Down Overship location.
- Fixed Veracitor melee attacks clipping through Helldivers using the SH-20 Ballistic Shield Backpack.
- Watchers and Obtruders can now attack players mounted behind a Grenadier Battlement.

- Xbox players can now view a user’s Gamecard when joining an ongoing game.
- Fixed an inverted factory building facade.
- Updated pickup sounds for medals, requisition slips, and Super Credits in one mission.
- Fixed the Recoil Simulator displaying all ammunition as being fired at once.
- Vehicle delivery shuttles no longer get stuck searching for delivery locations in dense cities.

- Helldivers can now find Super Credits in Factory Worlds.

Helldivers 2 originally released on February 8, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and Windows, before launching on Xbox Series X/S on August 26, 2025. The game is developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
