Hironobu Sakaguchi Interested In Bringing Fantasian To PC, Hopeful For A sequel

Hironobu Sakaguchi has expressed interest in bringing Fantasian over to PC, and he is also hopeful for the possibility of a sequel.

During the anime and game festival MAGIC 2023 held in the Principality of Monaco, Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the “Final Fantasy” series, stated that he is interested in bringing Fantasian to PC, and he also didn’t rule out the possibility of a sequel.

In response to a question regarding his work on Fantasian, Sakaguchi stated that he was aware that there are many fan requests for a PC release as well as a sequel. He said that he would like to continue working as hard as possible in order to meet the expectations of fans. Though he added that, at the moment, nothing has been decided with regards to the possibility of a sequel.

Sakaguchi stated that Fantasian is a title he would like everyone to see a little more. As such, the possibility of a PC port appears to be a matter of “when” rather than “if”. The game achieving further success on the platform would certainly improve chances for a sequel.

Previously, it was revealed that Hironobu Sakaguchi is currently working on a brand new dark fantasy themed game. Japanese publication Famitsu asked a number of game creators involved in the production of popular games about their aspirations for the year 2023. In his response, Sakaguchi stated that he had considered retiring, but he will instead try to go at it one more time with a brand new project.

Sakaguchi-san dropped some hints regarding his new project in his response to Famitsu. He said that his next title will be a dark fantasy game, and he has already started writing the scenario. It sounds like the game is far from release at this point, though the prospects of a dark fantasy game from Sakaguchi-san are exciting nevertheless.
