Hotta Studio has responded to ongoing concerns surrounding the use of generative AI in Neverness to Everness, clarifying how the technology was used and outlining steps being taken following community feedback.
In a statement shared by the official NTE Global account, the team emphasized that the core creative work behind the game remains human-driven. “Neverness to Everness is built on human creativity. The characters, stories, and world you experience are the work of artists, writers, and designers,” the statement reads. It adds that “AI-assisted tools were used only on a small number of background and environmental assets, not on the characters or stories that define this game.”
The developers also acknowledged specific concerns raised by players, confirming that certain assets are already being addressed. “We’re already reviewing and reworking the flagged assets: ‘Clear Skies in Summer’ and ‘Pink Paws Heist’,” the team said, while encouraging continued feedback from the community.
Neverness to Everness, an open-world supernatural gacha game released on April 29, 2026, has faced scrutiny in recent weeks after players identified several in-game elements they believed showed signs of AI-generated content. Among the examples cited were a billboard resembling imagery from Weathering with You and a television animation with visible artifacting.
The situation prompted reactions from parts of the community, including content creators and voice actors who publicly distanced themselves from the project. Earlier messaging from the developer indicated that AI tools were limited to atmospheric and background uses, though the discovery of additional assets intensified the discussion.
With its latest statement, Hotta Studio has reiterated its stance while committing to revisions where needed. “Your feedback shapes this game, so please keep it coming. We’re listening, and we’re committed to delivering the quality you deserve,” the team said.
