Based on the above image, the stated input voltage for the Nintendo Switch 2 dock is 20 volt with 3 ampere current. On the other hand, the output voltage is stated as is 15 volt with 2.8 ampere current. In addition, Dale has learned that the Nintendo Switch 2 will ship with a 60 watt charger for use with the dock. As a result, she pointed out that the current generation Nintendo Switch dock charger will not be suitable for powering its successor’s dock.

A prior datamine of the exchange of data between Nintendo and NVIDIA had also uncovered references to a charger with 60 watt power. It is believed that this could allow for higher clock speeds and also improve the console’s charging capabilities to the “fast-speed” spec if it adopts the use of GaN technology. The use of the latter technology is vital in current chargers for cell phones and notebooks that ensure greater efficiency and speed with each charge.

According to the source, the manufacturer that will provide the charger for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be Delta Electronics, the same supplier responsible for the version present in the existing Switch console. Furthermore, the manufacturer data also contained hints regarding the presence of a new cooler in addition to the one already present in the console. It is smaller in size, and is believed to be part of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock, which would facilitate thermals for a more powerful charger.

Recently, known Nintendo Switch 2 insider NextHandheld had revealed images of its dock and logo. Read about it here.
