The pricing of a certain DLC at nearly an equivalent of 3600 US Dollars on the Mexican Nintendo Switch eShop has left users confused.
The DLC in question is the Season 4 coin bundle for the Nintendo Switch version of LEGO 2K Drive, and it comes with a public transit bus and 1100 coins for use in the game. The outrageous pricing has left players confused, and the only assumption that can be made here is that this was likely done in error.
If it’s any consolation, spending a fortune on the LEGO 2K Drive Season 4 coin bundle on the Mexican Nintendo eShop will get users a grand total of 18,001 eShop coins to spend on the purchase of future titles.
While pricing errors are fairly common, they’ve rarely ever led to the kind of error seen here. It’s expected that Nintendo will make amends sometime soon, and that any brave soul who went ahead and made a purchase will be granted a refund.
For the uninitiated, Lego 2K Drive is a kart racing game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. It was released on May 19, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is played from a third-person perspective. It is set in Bricklandia, an open world with various regions that players can freely explore. As with other Lego games, the environments are destructible. In addition to the main story, players can take part in mini-games and challenges scattered throughout the world. Players also have the option to build their own vehicles using 1,000 unique LEGO pieces or select pre-designed models from Lego City and Lego Creator. Vehicles can also transform, much like in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, with land vehicles switching to boats when entering water. The game offers both cooperative and competitive multiplayer, including two-player split-screen and six-player online modes.
