PS Plus Extra & Premium Is Losing Horizon Forbidden West And Other Square Enix RPGs In September

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscription tiers are set to lose a majority of Square Enix’s RPGs in September 2024.

The Last Chance to Play section of the PlayStation Store has been updated to highlight the batch of games in the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog that will soon be making their exit from the service. Sony will be removing a total of 12 titles from the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog in September 2024, including a majority of Square Enix’s RPGs.

Subscribers can always view the “Last Chance to Play section” on the PlayStation Plus Collections page on PS5, or the Games Catalogue section in the PlayStation Plus menu on PS4, for games they may be interested in checking out before they leave the service.

Other games that recently made their exit from the PS Plus Extra and Premium game catalog in August 2024 include NBA 2K24 (PS4, PS5), Need For Speed Unbound (PS5), SpellForce lll Reforced (PS4, PS5), Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed (PS4, PS5), and Trials of Mana (PS4).

One of the prominent titles that are leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium in September is Horizon Forbidden West, an action role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PS5 and PC. It is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn and takes place in a post-apocalyptic Western United States, recovering from an extinction event caused by a rogue robot swarm.
