PS5 Firmware Update 24.05-09.60 Sneaks Out With New Features
The most recent PS5 firmware update, labeled version 24.05-09.60.00, introduces new features and enhancements to elevate the gaming experience. Among the notable additions is the introduction of the capability to invite other players to game sessions by sharing a URL to the session. This functionality is accessible for open sessions that anyone can join. Players can initiate the game session action card, select the “Share Link” option, and then use a mobile device to scan a QR code and share the link. This feature will be progressively made available to all players by July 24.
Another significant update is the improvement of the Voice Command feature, now providing support for opening Game Help action cards by stating “Show Game Help.” As a feature currently in preview, it is exclusively available in English for players with PlayStation Network accounts in the US and UK.
Furthermore, the update includes enhancements to the system software’s performance and stability, improvements to the stability of some DualSense wireless controllers, and enhanced messaging and usability on certain screens.
