REANIMAL has surpassed 1 million copies sold since launch, according to Embracer Group’s latest financial report.

The company described the horror adventure title as one of its strongest recent new IP launches, stating that the game launched to a “strong reception from fans and critics alike.” Embracer also confirmed that REANIMAL sold “over one million copies since release.”

CEO Phil Rogers specifically praised developer Tarsier Studios in the report, saying, “The incredible team at Tarsier Studios have captured the hearts and minds of players with this new IP and have something to really build on for the long-term.”

The wording suggests Embracer sees REANIMAL as a franchise with long-term potential rather than a standalone project. The company also noted that the title was the “key driver” among new releases during the quarter.

In the PC/Console Games section, Embracer stated, “REANMIAL received positive ratings from critics and users, delivering a solid release quarter for a new IP, with more than one million copies sold since the release.”

The publisher additionally confirmed post-launch expansion plans for the game. “REANIMAL’s main expansion, The Expanded World, is planned to release in three chapters, with Chapter 1 in Q2 FY 2026/27,” the report stated. Based on the company’s fiscal calendar, the first DLC chapter is expected to launch between July 1 and September 30, 2026.

REANIMAL also contributed significantly to Embracer’s completed development output during the quarter. The company said finalized value from completed and released games reached SEK 633 million, driven by REANIMAL alongside Screamer and Ride 6.

Developed by Tarsier Studios and published by THQ Nordic, REANIMAL launched on February 13, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The horror puzzle-platformer follows an orphaned brother and sister attempting to survive a flooded nightmare version of their island home while searching for their missing friends.
