While console owners can’t avoid the Resident Evil 2 demo time limit, there is a trick that seems to work on PC.
Resident Evil 2 demo is available now on all platforms. It is limited to just 30 minutes though and pays homage to the original Resident Evil 2 demo. There is a workaround available on PC that should potentially solve this time limit issue, although it is a headache itself.
How To Remove Resident Evil 2 Demo Time Limit?
Warning: this method should be attempted at your own risk. You will have to delete some files located in Steam so it can break the game, or Steam itself.
- Play the demo until the time limit runs out
- Delete files in [Steam\userdata\[YOUR ID]\961440]
- Download SAM (SteamAchievementManager) on GitHub
- Use SAM to delete achievements by manually entering the Game ID [961440]
- Do this every time you finish the demo if you want to play through it again
The other way that is kind of a grey area is to use a trainer which is available on PC. This can remove the time limit without having to manually do it all yourself.
If you think the full game is available in the demo, you are mistaken since it is just a demo. Even if you use some hack to remove the time limit, the demo will end after a certain point. In fact, it is entirely possible to reach the ending within the allocated 30 minutes if you know where to go, and how to solve the puzzles.
The demo seems fun but the real deal, the full game, will release on January 25th, 2019, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
