A new claim from Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem suggests that Capcom’s planned story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem may not arrive until after the release of Resident Evil Veronica, potentially placing its launch in late 2027.
According to the insider, the downloadable content currently in development for Resident Evil Requiem is expected to follow Resident Evil Veronica’s release. While Capcom has confirmed that a major story expansion is in the works, the company has not announced a release window for the content. As a result, the reported late 2027 target should be treated as speculation until officially confirmed.
Resident Evil Requiem launched in early 2026 as the ninth mainline installment in Capcom’s long-running survival horror franchise. The game received strong critical and commercial reception thanks to its dual-protagonist design, which alternates between FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft’s first-person survival horror segments and Leon S. Kennedy’s more action-oriented third-person gameplay.
The title also enjoyed a strong commercial debut, surpassing five million copies sold during its first week on the market. Alongside confirming the upcoming story expansion, Capcom previously announced a free spring update that will add a Photo Mode as well as an undisclosed gameplay minigame.
Neither Capcom nor the Resident Evil development team has commented on Dusk Golem’s latest claim. Until an official announcement is made, the reported timing for the Resident Evil Requiem expansion remains a rumor.
