A new Nintendo Direct presentation could take place around mid-June, according to comments shared by Giant Bomb editor Jeff Grubb during a recent podcast appearance.
Grubb said he has heard Nintendo is planning some form of presentation near Summer Game Fest, though he noted uncertainty over the exact format. “I’m hearing we should get the next Nintendo Direct by mid-June. At SGF, or around SGF, I don’t know exactly. I haven’t heard that it’s a full Nintendo Direct, but I would assume that, if it’s around SGF, it has to be, right?” he said.
The comments line up with earlier claims from insider NateDrake, who reportedly stated back in March that Nintendo was not planning a Direct presentation before June 2026.
The latest rumors arrive as Nintendo continues discussing its long-term software roadmap for Switch 2. In a recently published investor Q&A session, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said the company has multiple projects in development despite growing production timelines across the industry.
“We have various new titles prepared for Nintendo Switch 2 regardless of whether they are ‘major’ titles,” Furukawa said. He added that Nintendo plans to reveal more information about its software lineup for the second half of the fiscal year “at the appropriate time.”
Nintendo recently also addressed rising Switch 2 pricing, pointing to tariffs, increasing component costs, and broader market conditions as factors affecting the hardware business. While the company has not officially announced a June presentation, speculation around a Nintendo Direct has continued to grow ahead of Summer Game Fest.
