Saints Row Reboot Announcement Teased For Gamescom

by Ali Haider

Saints Row fans rejoice as a new game announcement is expected to happen during the upcoming Gamescom Opening Night Live show, potentially a Saints Row Reboot.

Geoff Keighley is hosting the Gamescom Opening Night Live show which is due on Wednesday. He teased a ‘reboot’ announcement on his Twitter account. This was quoted by the official Twitter account of Saints Row. The game’s website has also been updated with the same image that simply says “rebooting” on it.

Saints Row hasn’t seen a new game since the release of Saints Row 4 on PS3 and Xbox 360. It was also released for PS4 and Xbox One along with a ‘remake’ of Saints Row 3. While the series hasn’t been in the limelight with a proper new entry for a while, this hasn’t diminished its appeal.

The lack of a new Grand Theft Auto means that fans who are clamoring for a wacky open-world vehicular mayhem are looking for Saints Row to fill the void with a new game. That might become a reality with the announcement of a reboot.

As for the game itself, it was confirmed that Deep Silver is working on a new Saints Row game, but what we didn’t know at that time was that it was a reboot, instead of something like Saints Row 5. More details should arrive once the announcement is up later next week.
