A new Naruto manga titled Shadow Rising NARUTO has been announced, with original series creator Masashi Kishimoto attached as its writer. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser.

Kishimoto created the original Naruto manga, which ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1999 to 2014. The series followed Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who dreams of becoming the Hokage while dealing with the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside him. It concluded after 700 chapters collected across 72 volumes and became one of the most successful manga franchises worldwide.

The franchise has continued through anime adaptations, films, video games and the sequel manga Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. The latter follows the next generation of ninjas in a story set after a major time skip.

Details about Shadow Rising: Naruto are currently limited. The announcement does not clarify whether the new manga will continue Naruto Uzumaki’s story, revisit existing characters, or introduce a new narrative within the franchise. More information will be provided at Jump Festa 2027.
