Shenmue 3 Update 1.02 File Size and Patch Notes

Shenmue 3 has received an update earlier this week bumping the patch size to 14.5 GB. Here’s what you need to know about this update.

Shenmue 3 will be out on November 19. Ahead of its launch, the game already has a patch live on the official PlayStation servers. The patch size was first revealed to be roughly 4 GB for update 1.01 but now another new patch is out for the game.

This patch bumps the file size to 14.5 GB and includes the following changes.

Shenmue 3 Update 1.02 Patch Notes

  • Battle balance has been adjusted
  • Game usability has been adjusted
  • Stability improvements implemented
  • Settings for applying DLCs prepared
  • Other Bug fixes

These changes apply to both of the updates that are currently live for Shenmue 3. While the game is not out until November 19, it is not that uncommon to get updates for games that have already gone gold. Death Stranding had received multiple patches and so did Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It was rumored a while ago that the game has hit the gold phase of development and with release date fast approaching, it is possible that the developers are hard at work at resolving any final minute issues.

Shenmue 3 originated as a Kickstarter project in 2015. It continues the story of the first two games although this isn’t likely going to be the end of the series. Yu Suzuki, the creator of the series, is the main driving force behind this project which was only possible thanks to a record-breaking success on Kickstarter where it managed to secure a funding goal of more than six million.
