Shift Up Says an Xbox Version of Stellar Blade Is Possible, But More Time Is Needed

Shift Up has suggested that an Xbox version of Stellar Blade remains a possibility, though the company says it needs more time before it can bring the game to additional platforms.

The comments came from Shift Up publishing representative Edo on X, where he discussed the company’s growing self-publishing ambitions following the announcement of Stellar Blade for Nintendo Switch 2.

“Being able to announce a new platform (NS2) after being exclusive to PS5 is a huge deal for our self-publishing ambitions. It’s a first step towards serving as many fans as we can, but it will take some time for us to build the structure we need to make it happen,” Edo wrote.

After being asked directly whether Xbox players could expect a version of Stellar Blade in the future, Edo responded, “Nothing is impossible, we just need time.”

While the statement falls short of confirming an Xbox release, it indicates that Shift Up has not ruled out expanding the game’s platform availability beyond PlayStation, PC, and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2 version.

Originally developed by Shift Up and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Stellar Blade launched in 2024 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive before later arriving on PC. The action-adventure title follows Eve, a soldier tasked with reclaiming Earth from the alien Naytiba threat. The game earned praise for its fast-paced combat system, which combines stylish action mechanics with precise parrying and dodging, alongside its detailed environments and high-end visual presentation.

During the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, Shift Up confirmed that Stellar Blade is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. Unlike previous versions, the Switch 2 release will be self-published by Shift Up and will include support for the console’s upgraded Joy-Con 2 motion controls, including gyro-based interactions for activities such as fishing and mini-games.

For now, no Xbox version has been officially announced. However, Shift Up’s latest comments suggest that the company is at least considering the possibility as it continues to expand its publishing operations across additional platforms.
