Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track for a fall 2025 release, part of an ambitious lineup for Fiscal Year 2025. During a recent investor presentation, CEO Strauss Zelnick outlined a strong pipeline of games, including Sid Meier’s Civilization VII (launching February 11), Mafia: The Old Country (set for summer), and Borderlands 4 (coming later in the year).
The company has reaffirmed its full-year net bookings guidance, projecting between $5.55 billion and $5.65 billion. Zelnick noted that while mobile gaming trends have softened, flagship franchises like NBA 2K25 have performed strongly, with over 7 million units sold already. Recurrent consumer spending in NBA 2K titles has increased by over 30%, and daily active users are up nearly 20% compared to last year.
Zelnick acknowledged that the fourth quarter might feel the impact of shifting operating expenses and ongoing mobile trends, but he remains confident about Fiscal 2025. The holiday season was particularly strong, with $1.37 billion in net bookings, setting a solid foundation for the year ahead. He credited the outperformance of the NBA 2K franchise and well-timed expenses for helping the company exceed expectations in several areas.
A major focus of the presentation was the Grand Theft Auto series. With Grand Theft Auto V surpassing 210 million units sold worldwide and GTA Online maintaining strong engagement, the fall release of Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to further cement the franchise’s legacy. Zelnick emphasized that GTA remains an industry benchmark and a key driver of the company’s growth.
Other highlights included strong sales and engagement for Red Dead Redemption 2 and its online mode, which continues to attract large numbers of players on PC. The mobile segment also saw growth, with titles like Toon Blast and Toy Blast delivering double-digit increases. While some mobile franchises, such as Empires and Puzzles, underperformed, Take-Two remains optimistic about future launches and expansions to boost mobile revenue.
Zelnick concluded by stating that Calendar Year 2025 is shaping up to be one of Take-Two’s strongest ever, with a strategic lineup expected to deliver exceptional returns for shareholders.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently slated to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X in Fall 2025.
