The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Edition Shipment Damaged In Transit
A seemingly widespread issue with the shipment of The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Edition has led to the packaging getting damaged in transit.
Many fans who pre-ordered The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Edition, which was available in limited quantity, are now receiving damaged copies of the game. According to these dissatisfied customers who paid $99.99 for this edition, the game was inadequately packaged, resulting in damage during transit.
Received #TheLastofUsPartI Firefly Edition, but I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the poor packaging used by @PlayStation, resulting in damage! C’mon @AskPlayStation you need to do better, there was ZERO packing material. People paid collector level pricing for this! @Naughty_Dog pic.twitter.com/vw28dhzSOz

Twitter User Porshapwr, who had ordered his copy via the official PlayStation site, attempted to contact Playstation Support in order to claim a replacement. After around 45 mins and two separate chats with support, Playstation Support told him that they were unable to offer a replacement. He could only claim a refund by returning his damaged copy. That said, he was offered a 20% voucher on a future game purchase from the official PlayStation site for the inconvenience.
There appears to have been some inconsistency in the packaging of these special and limited editions of The Last of Us Part 1, as some copies of the game seem to have been packaged inside cardboard boxes along with a PlayStation Branded paper padding, while other copies have been poorly packaged, resulting in them being damaged on arrival.
The Last of Us Part I is a 2022 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is a remake of the 2013 game The Last of Us featuring improved visuals and some minor improvements to gameplay. In the single-player narrative, Joel is tasked with protecting young Ellie while accompanying her across a post-apocalyptic America and fending off cannibalistic creatures that have been infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus.
The expansion The Last of Us: Left Behind, a single-player campaign that follows Riley and Ellie, is also included in the game. The online multiplayer component of the original game is omitted from the remake.
