Nintendo’s upcoming action-adventure game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, will allow players to remove all UI elements for an immersive experience.
In his recent video, content creator Zeltik (via Genki_JPN on Twitter/X) shared a hands-on preview of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, during which he revealed that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive will offer Normal, Pro, and Master UI display options, allowing players to change how much on-screen information appears during gameplay.
According to the content creator, each UI setting offers a different experience. The Normal option retains the standard interface, displaying the information players need while exploring Hyrule and battling enemies. Meanwhile, the Pro setting removes almost all interface elements, including Link’s hearts, similar to the minimalist display option available in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This option provides a cleaner view of the game’s environments while preserving some essential gameplay indicators. The Master setting goes even further by removing all UI element.
Zeltik mentioned that the difference between Pro and Master goes beyond the removal of health indicators and other on-screen information. Master also does away with the Z-targeting lock-on indicator when facing enemies, leaving players to rely on Navi, Link’s fairy companion, for guidance.
During his 2-hour preview session, the content creator primarily used Normal for the sections featuring young Link and switched to Pro for much of the adult Link gameplay. He also experimented with Master, and praised the option as an interesting addition for players seeking a more immersive experience.
Other menu options available in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake include settings for subtitles, voice language, controller vibration, button assignments, and the controls used to play the Ocarina.
Zeltik praised the remake’s visuals, smoother movement, revamped combat, expanded dialogue, and redesigned dungeon layouts. Although the game remains largely faithful to the original Nintendo 64 classic, it does introduce new side quests, items, and story details.
