Tony Todd Appears To Be Doing Mocap For Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

by Muhammad Ali Bari

Candyman actor Tony Todd appears to have begun mocap for Marvel’s Spider-man 2. The original as well as Spider-man: Miles Morales were both a huge success for Insomniac Games and PlayStation. Todd’s involvement can only be seen as a good thing, as he is a very talented performer.

Tony Todd is doing motion capture and voice overs for the character Venom, who is prominently featured in Spider-man 2. We can’t wait to see how his performance turns out, as his voice and build seem like a perfect match for the character. Insomniac Games chose the right actor for the job. Hopefully, fans won’t have to wait long to see a glimpse of the character in action. There ought to be a trailer or two to tide Venom fans over until the game’s release.

Tony Todd (born December 4, 1954) is an American actor who made his film debut as Sgt. Warren in Platoon (1986) and played Kurn in the Star Trek: The Next Generation (1990–1991) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (2001–2002) television series (1996). He rose to fame as Ben in the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, as the title character in the four Candyman films (1992–2021), and as William Bludworth in the Final Destination trilogy (2000–2011). Besides doing the voice overs for Venom in Marvel’s Spider-man 2, he also voiced The Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Darkseid in the DC Animated Movie Universe, and Zoom in The Flash.

The critically and commercially successful Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise continues with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the PS5. Unlike previous Spider-man releases on the PS5, the sequel is not cross-gen, and remains exclusive to the current-gen console. The series is the outcome of a long-term collaboration between PlayStation and Marvel for the use of the latter’s IPs in the interactive medium. Marvel’s Spider-man 2 is set to hit store shelves sometime in the year 2023.
