The Triple-i Initiative 2026 showcase revealed The Escapists 3, Machinarium 2 and Among Us Story: On Guard as three of its biggest announcements. The 40-minute presentation featured news for 40 games, including new reveals, release dates, expansions and demos available to play immediately.
The Escapists 3 marks the return of Team17’s prison sandbox series with a new 3D entry. Scheduled to launch on PC and consoles in 2027, the game will feature more prisons to explore, weapons to find and craft, and new ways to plan an escape.
Machinarium 2 is a sequel to Amanita Design’s 2009 adventure game. Josef and Berta reunite and discover a hidden valley inhabited by two robot tribes facing dwindling power supplies. Players can switch between the two characters to solve puzzles, with the sequel retaining the series’ hand-drawn art style. Wishlisting is now available on Steam.
Among Us Story: On Guard received a release date of February 17, 2027, for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and mobile devices. This standalone detective game puts players in the role of someone who must prove their innocence while identifying the Impostor before the rest of the crew is targeted.
The showcase also featured the first gameplay footage of The Talos Principle 3, which is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 in 2027. Another new reveal was Aftergods, a top-down survival action RPG from Norsfell, the developer behind Tribes of Midgard. Players take on the role of a god who survived Ragnarök, recruiting followers, building temples and fighting giant monsters in a handcrafted world.
Lazare’s Sacrifice was also announced as a narrative deckbuilder set during the French Revolution. Developed in collaboration with Damien Monnier, designer of the original Gwent and Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, it challenges players to fight using cards while uncovering the truth behind their imprisonment. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam in Spring 2027.
Several existing games also received major content announcements. DAVE THE DIVER will get a crossover DLC with Subnautica 2 in early 2027, bringing alien oceans into Dave’s Blue Hole. Meanwhile, Risk of Rain 2: Hallowed Concepts, the game’s fourth expansion, launched on October 8 with new regions, enemies, bosses, trials and challenges.
Other notable announcements included Stronghold 4, which launches on Steam on December 7, 2026, alongside a new demo, and SULFUR, whose full release and console debut are scheduled for October 28. Outward 2 will enter Early Access on February 8, 2027, while Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is set to launch on Steam on April 27, 2027.
ReVamp, a tower defense game from the creators of Moonlighter and Cataclismo, also received a release date of March 25, 2027. Players take on the role of Dracula, building a fortress and commanding monsters to defend against invading forces. Its first Steam playtest is available now.
