If you are hoping to play Battlefield 2042 open beta on Xbox, you will need to get an Xbox Live Gold membership while you won’t need it on PlayStation consoles.
The date for the Battlefield 2042 open beta has been set by EA DICE. As players are anticipating the game’s launch in November, they can get some early hands-on with the open beta from October 6th.
In a FAQ posted on the official Battlefield 2042 website, we learn that the open beta will require Xbox Live Gold but not PS Plus.
The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta is available to play on PC (via Origin, EA app, Steam, and Epic) and console (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S). Please note, PlayStation Plus is not needed to participate in the Open Beta, however, if you’re playing on Xbox you will need to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.
Technically, if you own an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, you can get early access through the EA Access membership and play the beta on October 6th. For the rest, the beta will be available on October 8th.
You can get access to the Open Beta starting October 6 if you’ve pre-ordered the game or are a current EA Play member. If you pre-ordered a physical copy of the game, make sure you redeem the pre-order code that the retailer gave you when you purchased it. If you’re an EA Play member, be sure you’re logged into the correct account to get early access.
Battlefield 2042 will be out on November 19, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
