Bethesda Game Studios has outlined its long-term roadmap, confirming multiple Bethesda Fallout projects are in development alongside continued work on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI.
In a message to players, the studio said Fallout remains one of its highest priorities. It confirmed that Fallout 5 is its long-term destination and is currently in preproduction, while revealing that several other Fallout projects are also in active development.
Bethesda also announced that Fallout 76 will receive a major expansion next year titled Raven Rock, described as a prequel story to Fallout 3. The studio said the online RPG continues to attract millions of players and has received nearly 70 free updates since launch.
The company also confirmed it is working on remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, although no release dates were announced.
Beyond the games, Bethesda revealed that Fallout Shelter has surpassed 250 million players and will receive new Seasons in the future. It also announced that an unscripted Fallout Shelter television project is in development with Amazon Studios and Kilter Films. The studio congratulated Amazon and Kilter Films on Fallout Season 2 receiving 10 Emmy nominations, while confirming production on Season 3 is already underway.
Bethesda also confirmed it is collaborating once again with Obsidian Entertainment on a new Fallout project, although no additional details were shared.
Outside the Fallout series, Bethesda said Starfield has now surpassed 17 million players, with almost one billion hours played. The studio plans to continue supporting the game with new stories, gameplay improvements and updates throughout its third year, while preparing new Starborn content for release next year.
The studio also shared an update on The Elder Scrolls VI, describing it as its primary development focus. Bethesda said most of its development team is currently working on the game and confirmed both The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 are being built using Creation Engine 3.
According to the studio, “The next chapter is on the way. We’re where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day.”
Bethesda added that it is investing in new technology, expanding support for its live games and bringing its teams closer together as it continues development across the Fallout, The Elder Scrolls and Starfield franchises.
