Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has sold more than 3 million copies in its first week, continuing the strong momentum that began with 2 million sales on launch day.
The remake launched on July 9 and has continued to build an audience following its release. Ubisoft also said player reception has improved since launch, with Steam user reviews now sitting at a Very Positive rating after a series of post-launch updates.
According to the publisher, ongoing support has included quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes based on player feedback. Ubisoft has also confirmed that the highly requested New Game+ mode is in development, giving players another reason to revisit Edward Kenway’s adventure once they complete the main story.
Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a full remake of the 2013 original, rebuilt using the latest version of the Anvil engine. The updated release features overhauled visuals alongside gameplay enhancements, including parry-focused combat, improved stealth and parkour mechanics, expanded naval gameplay and additional story content.
Set during the Golden Age of Piracy, the game follows pirate captain Edward Kenway as he becomes entangled in the conflict between the Assassins and Templars. Players also encounter historical figures including Blackbeard, Anne Bonny and Calico Jack while exploring the Caribbean.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is available through Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, where it is Steam Deck Verified, and the Epic Games Store.
