Black Ops Cold War suffers from a major glitch that can render the game unplayable as the controller is disconnected. Here’s a temporary fix for this issue.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available from today on both PS4 and PS5. It appears that the developers haven’t learned from the early beta test as one of the major bugs remains in the final version of the game. This bug can manifest in both the single-player campaign and the multiplayer. It leads to the controller losing sync with the console and disconnecting in the middle of the gameplay, which can be incredibly annoying.

How To Fix Controller Disconnecting Issue in Black Ops Cold War
- Go to Settings > Devices
- Select Controllers
- Change your Communication Method to USB.
Afterward, you just need to use a USB to connect to your PS4 and the controller should work with the game without any issues. While this is a minor annoyance, there is nothing much to do aside from using this temporary fix until an official patch is released later down the line.
