Call Of Duty Black Ops 7 Limited Time Modes Will Allegedly Only Be Available To Battle Pass Users

Activision is allegedly planning on locking Limited Time Modes behind the battle pass for the next entry in the Call of Duty series, rumored to be Black Ops 7.

Known Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope took to Twitter/X to share that Activision and Treyarch are currently planning to make changes to the Call of Duty Battle Pass with the release of Black Ops 7 later this year in 2025. Based on what they’ve heard, the game will feature more seasonal Limited Time Modes (LTMs) than in prior entries. They further mentioned that some of them will be considered “higher value”, and will offer unique rewards and different game mechanics.  However, according to them, only those who have acquired the Battle Pass will be able to play these LTMs unlike them being available to all players in Black Ops 6 and earlier titles.

As per the insider, Activision and Treyarch are planning on taking the higher tier skins, loot, and crossover operators for LTMs and making them only available to Battle Pass users, instead of having the “Premium Event Track” that is currently offered during Reloaded updates. From what they understand, crossovers will be featured alongside the Battle Pass front and center.

The insider believes that the aforementioned changes are lateral at best. According to them, the availability of more crossovers through Battle Passes and LTMs could pave the way for them to have greater budgets. This raises the question of whether Battle Pass users will get to keep LTMs, given that they would be paid for rather than being free. It’s difficult to tell either way, as all of this information has yet to be confirmed by Activision.

While Black Ops 7 is likely to be a cross-gen release, the same insider had previously claimed that 2026’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 will not be released for PS4 and Xbox One. They had also said that the game is being developed on dev kits for the next Xbox console.
